Start planning your New Year's evening by consulting the First Night® schedule with its listing of entertainment, venues, and performance times. All entertainment sites are indoors.
Admission to all venues is gained by showing your First Night® 2012 Button. Buttons are $12 for adults and can be purchased at Coakley High Peaks Ace Hardware, Ampersound Music, Price Chopper Supermarket (Lake Placid), Books & Baskets, Blueline Sports, ADK Daily Enterprise, or the Lake Placid Visitor Bureau. All button sales are final. Please wear your button on your outer clothing for quick access to all venues.
Children 12 and under are admitted free but need to display the First Night® button designed especially for them which will be available at all venues.
Purchasing a First Night® button not only provides entry to all venues but provides financial support to this community activity. All First NightŪ artists and performers are paid for their participation. In addition to button sales, support for First Night® Saranac Lake comes from community business contributions, private donations, and from grants from organizations that support First Night® values.
Plan ahead, dress comfortably, wear your walking shoes or boots, and layer your clothing! Be flexible - there's plenty of entertainment to go around, but you may not be able to attend a specific performance if the venue is already full when you get there. And don't miss the excitement at midnight with our snowflake ball drop on River Street and the fireworks finale on Lake Flower!
First Night® Saranac Lake is proud to be one of 75 First Night® New Year's Eve celebrations conducted across the United States. First Night® began in Boston more than 30 years ago as a family-oriented, alcohol-free, celebration of the performing and visual arts bring to welcome in the New Year.
