First Night® Buttons: $10 Adults; Children 12 and under Free -- Buttons on sale in Saranac Lake at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Ampersound Music, Blue Line Sport Shop, Books & Baskets, Saranac Lake Chamber of Commerce, and SnapShot Photo, and in Lake Placid at the Lake Placid Visitors Bureau.


First Night Food and Fun

St. Bernard's School Cafeteria

The Peak Performance group will be cooking up some awesome Tacos and Taco Salads for people with a craving for Mexican food.
Time: 5:30 -8:30 PM
Price: Dinner $3-$5; Dessert $1

Who are the Adirondack Peak Protectors? It's a local group of men and women dedicated to making a difference in the battle against breast cancer. In August 2008 they will be in Boston for a 3 day; 60 mile walk, to raise money for the Komen Foundation and breast cancer research. For more information, go to www.the3day.org.

For Fun check out the classic cartoons throughout the evening, provided by Eric Granger of Placid Productions and Broadway Video.

First Presbyterian Church

The Northern Light's School will be serving a Hearty Fare of Vegetarian soup or stew with homemade bread and sweet.

Time: 5:30 -9:00

Price: $4.00 dinner $.50 sweets

Northern Light School is a Waldorf-based school that provides a developmentally appropriate education through the arts and a rich curriculum for Preschool through Third Grade. The mission of Northern Lights School is the nurture the imagination, to cultivate a love of learning, and to awaken a sense of moral responsibility in each child served."

Saranac Lake Adult Center

The Kiwanis will be cooking up spaghetti and meatball with salad and bread and brownies for dessert. Just right for hungry First Night Reveler's.

Time: 5:30- 8:30

Price: $7 for adults; $5 for children 12 & under

What do the Kiwanis of Saranac Lake do? The Saranac Lake Kiwanis raises money to address the needs of children, their health, education and development.

For Fun the Getaway Youth group will be providing children's activities: face painting, animal balloon making and bean toss games.

The Sound of Music - Sing-Along Back by popular Demand. Showtime at 8:00 and 9:00 brought to you by the Community Theatre Players.

Harrietstown Town Hall

The Critter Café and Tri-Lakes Humane Society will once again be serving food for the hungry.

The ala cart menu includes: Chili for $2.50; Mac & Cheese $2.50; Hot Dogs or Chili Dogs $1.50 or $1.75; Chips $.50 Beverages $1.00; Baked Goods $1.00

Time: 5:00- 11:00

Tri-Lakes Humane Society provides shelter to stray and unwanted domestic animals. We are proud to say that we have placed 3000 animals in loving homes since 2001! We are a non-profit, no kill shelter, and we have many animals up for adoption.
